The device has an 8 wire connector that makes it possible to use it without soldering, which is quite convenient. The board functions as expected after downloading the open source sample code. The code is readable and has useful comments throughout. Still attempting to understand how GRAM maps to the round LCD, but with the help of the built-in features, it should be easy to gain a firm understanding. I was concerned about the device's low price and its lack of reviews, but it has been as user-friendly for beginners as it is possible to be. Additionally, although though this is more a matter of opinion, I really like how the display seems.

These capacitive touchscreens are now the de facto display for my side projects, most of which use the Raspberry Pi Pico. They are outstanding. After I was completely satisfied with those, they went ahead and made a new version with a rpico already integrated. And even better than that, they added 16MB of flash ROM because they understood that the lack of NVM is one of the greatest drawbacks of the rpico. WONDERFUL. My new preferred general-purpose embedded system is this one.

For a class project, I required an LCD monitor, so I bought this. It uses a common HD44780 controller, so you should have no trouble using it with any microcontroller kit out there. I used it with a PIC rather than an Arduino. The fact that it also includes a 10k potentiometer that can be adjusted with a screw on top is not mentioned in the product description. Overall, the blue display is really bright, but I had to adjust the potentiometer to get the exact amount of light. Nonetheless, this item is unbeatable for the price. If you need to preserve some pins, the manufacturer also makes one with a serial interface, however I haven't used that type.
