With 4K content becoming more widely available and 4K displays becoming more affordable, 4K resolution is gradually but surely taking the place of 1080p as the new norm. It's well worth the money if you can afford the gear needed to run 4K smoothly.
In comparison to other LCD TVs, those with colored LEDs will also produce sharper color accuracy. Even yet, a 720p HDTV with LED lighting can produce a clearer overall image than a 1080p HDTV of any kind.
In conclusion, OLED screens are better for your vision. They have a greater spectrum of colors, higher color contrast, and more natural lighting. But if you don't watch TV in a safe manner, you will damage your eyesight regardless of the kind of display you have.

I purchased this in order to build a portable screen for Recalbox or RetroPie. Positives: USB powering and low power consumption. Bright, clear, and crisp screen. Cons: If you're utilizing the HDMI port, you need a solid HDMI cable; a few cheap cables led to rubbish, white, or blank screens. (Not so much a drawback as anything I noticed) need some setup changes in order to function with the Raspberry Pi right out of the box. Look below. Getting Recalbox to recognize it: I finally located the correct config.txt settings after some searching. The following is all that needs to be added to your config.txt. #intensify the HDMI signal (if it's not set, it will only show a black screen!) Configure Hdmi Boost to 4 #remove borders of black; disable_overscan=1 #set specified CVT mode 800 480 60 6 0 0 0 hdmi_cvt #change the default CVT to hdmi_group=2. HDMI mode: 87 You're now operational. Note that in order to force the emulators to use your default configuration, you might need to alter a few config files in Recalbox. To determine which ones, use Google. I am unable to comment on the touchscreen.
URGENT: See my blog post for details on how to utilize it to run Kodi, OpenELEC, and XBMC. The secure route to go there is to type "zyzmog kodi openelec elecrow" into your search engine. When using the Pi Zero and Pi 3B, the display functions immediately out of the box. The UI with touches? I expect it to work on them as well because it worked so well on the 2B, though I haven't tested it yet. Moreover, the display functions with the BeagleBone Black right out of the box. unaware of the touch interface. PRIOR ANALYSIS: Since the Pi 3 and Pi Zero have taken the world by storm, I am aware that this is old news. However, I purchased this in December 2016 with the intention of using it with my just acquired Pi 2 Model B. I finally got around to it after all this time. I installed the touchscreen utility by following the directions on the product page, cloning the git repository, etc. When I first plugged it in, the display functioned and I was surprised to see the bootup sequence scrolling down the screen. Xfce4 functions smoothly on it.
What a fantastic small gizmo this screen is. It is clear and vivid. The touchscreen functions properly. It took me a few attempts to install it, so I figured I would share my results in hopes of helping someone else. This has only been tried on a Raspberry Pi 3 running Debian Jessie, but it might function on other flavors and versions as well. Strong advice: There's no need to download the alleged "driver" that has been mentioned everywhere. The Debian Jessie version is essentially simply a script that copies configuration files into your /etc/ folders, which seems to include some problems and bricks your device. Luckily, you don't have to do this because you can just edit the files yourself. Do the following before connecting the new display: You only require the touchscreen software. Use "sudo apt-get install xinput-calibrator" to obtain this. After that, put the following lines to /boot/config.txt in an edit: The information provided is incomplete and may need to be improved.
