I've owned several cross-line lasers; the first was a Pacific Laser PLS2, which had a fine line and was incredibly brilliant. Sadly, it broke after a few years, and I attempted to replace it with less expensive Bosch and Skil lasers. The latter two featured broader, less defined lines and were not as bright. The PSL 180R is unquestionably brighter and superior to my beloved PLS2. It is better built, larger, and features separate X and Y buttons in addition to position lock. The tripod socket is there. This device was packaged with a sizable yellow case, many laser holding options, an electronic target with audible and visible feedback (which functions well in bright outside light), and a few more standard targets. Overall, a superb bundle constructed around a superb unit (the 180 itself).

This is, in my view, one of the greatest options. People who want you to download their version of another person's firmware shouldn't be trusted.
