This TFT shield was purchased for use with the Elegoo Mega. With the Mega, it eliminates the tedious process of including graphics in each project and leaves a suitable number of pins for sensor attachment. A stylus is also included with the screen. After purchasing the Elegoo 37-in-1 sensor kit, I also purchased the Mega and TFT screen from them. I emailed Elegoo a couple times with some questions I had regarding the sensors and got excellent assistance. I felt confident making more Elegoo product purchases after this encounter. After I've had a chance to utilize the TFT screen more, I'll go over the review in more detail. I anticipate that the new TFT will take the place of an older, smaller one that needed to be rewired for every new project. Popping...
TL;DR One of the better displays available for the size and price, with some of the best viewing angles. Nice image. The touch screen's functionality is functional and average. This is excellent for Raspberry Pi projects that require a screen that can be viewed from any angle. extended version For a music player project I'm working on using the Raspberry Pi 4, I purchased this. After searching for a 7-inch monitor with acceptable viewing angles, I decided to buy this one. Because of the terrible vertical viewing angles, I initially purchased the official Raspberry Pi 7 in display and chose to put it on the back burner. To get the display to appear on the Raspberry Pi 4 I did need to make some changes to the config.txt file.
When my Omni 20+ screen cracked from a fall, I started looking for a replacement. This pairing is almost ideal. The visible area remains the same, with the exterior dimension slightly less than the original. Mine looks almost brand new now that I glued four corners to it and used a VHB pad behind it to secure it in place. The main drawback is that when it's powered off or charging, the large "charging" icon no longer shows up. However, in my opinion, this is a good thing because it leads to burn-in and never shuts off (when completely charged). The working display functions flawlessly, and if you attempt to turn it on while the battery is dead, you will still get the "the battery is dead" indicator, which is almost the same as the missing charging icon. Thus, in my view, the only thing that it does differently is for the better. Among them, five? Goodness me. I'd have been content to pay this for one, but I now have extras!
